Regarding the ancient myth of captivity, only the sacred rain can reach the princess Danaë who has inspired many artists for erotic painting over the centuries. The same is true of the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, who showed his Dana in 1907. Legend has it that the beautiful Dana was the daughter of Akrisios, the king of the city of Argos, and his prophecy was to die at the hands of his grandson. Therefore, he locked his only childless daughter, Danaë, outside the tower. However, Zeus, the father of the gods, coveted Dana so much that he came to her in the form of a golden rain and played the hero Perseus with her. In fact, Perseus later accidentally killed his grandfather with a discus. Klimt's artwork shows the viewer the sensual act between Dana and the golden rain between her legs. A curious detail is the black slender rectangle near the disgrace of Danae, which can symbolize the penis.
